            SUMMARY

           INTERVIEW

Paco López is often away on business, so he doesn't have a lot of "normal" days. But when he's not away, he starts work at about nine o'clock. He doesn't have breakfast at home, he has it at half past ten or eleven in a café near his office. A lot of people do that in Spain.

Paco has lunch at half past two, and starts work again at half past three or four o'clock, but he doesn't have a "siesta". People in the cities don't do that. He finishes work at about eight o'clock. Most people have two or three good breaks in the day, so they finish later.

After work a lot of people go to a bar. Paco has a beer or a glass of wine and tapas, then he eats with his family at about half past nine. After the meal he watches TV or plays with his children. They are six and eight, but they don't go to bed before eleven o'clock. That's normal.
Paco and his wife go to bed after midnight.

INFORMATION QUESTIONS

My name is John Gittins. I come from LA but now I live in Cambridge, England, with my wife and two children. The Cambridge area is the British “Silicon Valley” – where you can find many computer and electronics companies. I work for ECI, that’s Electronic Communications International. It’s an American company. We program online information for travel and finance companies.

On Saturdays my wife and I go shopping, and then I go jogging or play tennis with the kids. On Saturday evenings we often cook dinner for friends and the kids sometimes go out. On Sundays we usually stay at home and read the newspapers, watch TV or use the computer – we are all Internet fanatics! In the evenings we go out to a restaurant for dinner. I like Italian food and Californian red wine.
